The region's central location and good transport links to other parts of the UK continue to make The Midlands a buoyant area in which to invest. During 2006 the region was the third most popular for incoming residents. Recognised hotspots are Nottingham, which is currently benefiting from a massive £ 3 billion regeneration program, Birmingham, the UK's second city and still expanding, and Leicester, which combines relatively low house prices with a vigorous rental market.
